ABOUT US

TRBOR Boron Technologies Inc. is a company established to produce boron carbide with the initiatives of the
Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources and the contributions of the Presidency of Defense Industry. Its
partners include the Eti Maden, ETİMİNE A.Ş. and SSTEK. The facility established in the Bandırma campus is
one of the few in the world and the first in Türkiye. In this facility, boric acid and carbon source inputs
produced by Eti Maden are converted into boron carbide by reaction at 2400 ˚C with 4 electric arc furnaces and
has an installed capacity to produce 1350 tons per year. Especially in the fields of Refractory and Abrasives, the
company has been serving companies in the sector from Europe to Asia, from Asia to America. TRBOR
produces Boron Carbide, which is used in Refractory, Abrasive and Ballistic sectors, and can also produce
according to the demands of its customers.
Main Areas of Boron Carbide Usage are which sectors such as sandblasting nozzles, inserts, coatin and welding
in refractory and abrasive fields. The product is preferred because it increases the strength of the material it is
used in. Boron Carbide, is used especially in the armoring of tactical vehicles and as the raw material of
protective materials. It is preferred because it is more advantageous than steel due to its hardness and low
density. In the nuclear sector, Boron Carbide is used in the manufacture of reactor control rods, reactor
vessels, Boron Carbide Concrete for radiation protection, mixing with waste fuel in nuclear waste repositories
and as reaction control additives. TRBOR intends to be a supplier to companies in this sector.
